"We've got to do something.  We just can't stand around here and wait for that bastard  to get to Kurama first."  Yusuke said forcefully.

Yomi remained silent, a frown marred his face.

"What do you want me to do, Yusuke?  You know I can't do more than pray for Kurama's safety and send scouts to hunt for Fuyu."

"I was thinking that one of us, except for you, that is, should go to the ningenkai and warn Kurama."  Yusuke said wryly.

Yomi frowned again.

"Yusuke, why didn't you just instruct Koenma to do that?"

"KUSO!"  Yusuke slapped his forehead.  He was so busy covering for Keshiki that he'd forgotten that very, very important information.  What was the matter with him?

Yomi stood up impatiently.

"Well, we've wasted time.  Maybe You should go there and warn Kurama."

Yusuke paled, but then a determined expression was on his face.

"I'll see to it then." He said curtly and left.

Yomi sank back on his chair, massaging his temples.  The blind youkai whispered a name.

"Kurama...."

 ***************

"So you're finally back!"  a figure clad in black spat at the blue-eyed youkai.  His long blue hair flowing at his back.  Keshiki approached slowly, giving the youkai a calm stare.

"What is it, Minora?  Are you having trouble with the men?"

The tall figure glared at Keshiki.

"What kind of a leader are you?  You're supposed to stay here and lead your own kind.  We believed in you, Keshiki.  That's the main reason why we joined you in uprising!"

Keshiki took a deep breath.  How was he going to tell Minora and the rest of his men that he had fallen in love so deeply and he had decided to go to the end of the worlds to get his love back.  No, they would never understand.  The passion flowing through their veins was a far cry from his.  His passion was different.  Keshiki had never dreamed or craved for a kingdom, to lead and be master to a populace.  He had always been the silent and introvert type, leaving matters of leadership to his twin, Kurai.  An then he had known Kurama.  Maybe not for a very long time, but he knew he loved Kurama with a passion so deep. It pierced his soul.

"Well?  What can you say, Keshiki?"  Minora barked impatiently.

"I've decided not to lead this kingdom, Minora."

"NANI?!"  Minora sputtered furiously.

Keshiki bowed his head.

"I promise to stay until you've chosen for yourselves a worthy ruler."  He murmured.

"It's the redhead, isn't it?"  Minora flashed at a startled Keshiki.  "I knew the first time I caught sight of him that he was trouble.  You should have allowed Kurai to kill him.  If I had known, I might have killed him myself!"  Minora gritted.

Keshiki's eyes gleamed dangerously.
"Be careful what you say, Minora.  I might take you seriously."  Keshiki walked out on the youkai, seething.

Minora stared in mixed frustration and venomous anger at Keshiki's retreating back.  He had always been Keshiki's best friend and confidant.  He had followed through Keshiki's growth from a child to a struggling young youkai into a resolute, mature one.  He'd protected him from Fuyu's advances.  He would have given the blue-eyed youkai everything and anything.  He only had to ask.  But he was not giving up so easily.  Nothing was impossible, in time Keshiki would see through his vision and submit to his fate.  First, he had to get rid of the redhead and he had just the perfect plan.
