Kurama wrapped his arms around himself.  He felt cold, his shirt had been torn by Karasu.  The kitsune shivered.  He desperately needed his kaasann now.  He wanted to bask in the feel of security, warmth and unconditional love in her arms.  He beamed in happiness when he saw the tell tale lights of their house.

"Kaasan I'm home."  The redhead murmured as he ran.

 **************

Kurama tried to hide the confusion on his face, when he saw Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei and Botan upon barging into their house.  He went straight into his kaasan's arms.

"Shuuichi!"  Shiori gasped in relief, wrapping her precious, precious son in her arms and kissed his face over and over.

"Ka-kaasan."  Kurama felt hot tears stinging his eyes.   Yes he needed this, needed the love of his kaasan.

The other stood back, unable to speak but relieved that Kurama was safe.

"H-how did you?"  Kuwabara began, but Yusuke held him back, recalling Inari's order to remain silent about their dealings with Kurama.  The group quietly dispersed.  Kueama felt them leave and sighed in relief.  He couldn't pretend that he didn't know them.  He was so emotionally spent.  He needed time to compose himself and raise the barrier he had began to establish between himself and the reikai, makai and Hiei....  He pressed more tightly against Shiori, willing his tears to lessen the pain of his remembrance, the memories of a certain fire demon.

 ***************

Hiei felt bad.  He had been feeling bad lately, but, he admitted to himself, this was worst than bad.  He had felt acute happiness when he saw the redhead barged in and embraced his kaasan.  Then he saw Kurama's torn clothes, bruised cheek and bleeding forehead.  The fire demon felt like he needed to kill someone fast.  They had investigated the remains of  the two youkais who took Kurama.  A face mask had proven to be that of Karasu's.  That vile crow may have laid more than his hands on Kurama.  Hiei felt the boiling anger rise inside his chest.  He fervently thanked whoever destroyed the two youkais.  His only regret that they did not perish in his own hands.  As to how Kurama got out of the building, they couldn't know. Kurama was the sole witness to the scene, but they couldn't get to him now.  The fire demon stood up from his perch on a tree.  He couldn't care less about Inari's orders.  He was a selfish, possessive bastard.  He would do anything to have Kurama back to his side.
