Shuuichi moaned.  He had the most frightful headache.  He sat abruptly and realized he was sitting on athe hard ground in some dank, damp and dreary place.  His back hurt.  Why was he here?  Then he remembered.  He had stayed after school hours because his sensei had to commend him on his essay, then he had started his way home when he was assaulted at the very gates of the private school.  "That school really needs additional security."  Shuuichi muttered silently to him self.  He stood up gingerly and realized a band shackled on both his wrists.  It glittered as he moved and a his body responded with a surprising body malaise.  What the hell was this?  Ever since he had awakened that morning, everything had been weird.  Was his life always this weird?  He wondered and amazingly he couldn't remember.  The redhead tried hard not to be nervous, wondering uneasily what the guy with violet eyes wanted from him.

Hiei glared silently at the dark skies of the ningenkai.  It had been yesterday that he decided to say goodbye to say goodbye to his beloved fox and just this morning, Kurama repaid him in kind.  Saying goodbye to his youko spirit, his memories of their friendship, of the love they shared, the pain of their separation.  The fire demon clinched his fist.  Kurama was a coward.  But then, he was half-human, a tainted demon spirit.  Ningen emotions had weakened him considerably.  It was understandable.  What about him?  The fire youkai closed his eyes and remembered how he and the kitsune had parted.  Kurama had held back tears.  He had tried to be strong for the last time.  And he...he had gone to Mukuro.  Extinguished the fire in his veins with Mukuro.  All at once the fire demon felt sick in the gut.  He was the coward.  He ran away from the kitsune when he felt himself losing to the fox, weakening under the fox's loving spell.  Hiei gnashed his teeth in frustration and flitted off to the Minamino residence.  Kurama wanted to be free from them.  Who was he to prevent it?  He was a selfish bastard who failed the redhead.  The least he could do was to honor the kitsune's wish, but he had to see him for the last time.
