Hiei was going over Mukuro's things.  He intended for the slaves to classify and preserve Mukuro's things.  Right now, he just wanted to be reminded of the parted one.  He came upon a very old book some kind of journal, Mukuro's.  The fire demon opened it slowly and gazed transfixed at the last entry.

My last days are coming.  I can feel it.  My ki is diminishing so quickly.  I am ready, but I am sad, so sad.  I have to leave the best of what I have.  My kingdom, one which I have worked so hard to withstand all the storms and chaos on makai could give.  And most importantly, my heir and my BELOVED, Hiei.  How I longed to call him just that.  But I can't and I wont.  He deserves someone better.  Perhaps that one beautiful he calls his best friend, Kurama.  He is beautiful, no, gorgeous.  Maybe he and my Hiei could get together.  I don't want to be in the way.  I cannot...

Hiei clapped the book shut.  He had had enough.  His face had the most incredible rage written on it.  The fire demon swiftly left the room in search of the beautiful redhead.

Kurama was already asleep on the room assigned to him by one of the castle's attendants.  He woke up hazily to the opening and the slamming of the door in his room.  The next thing the kitsune knew, he was slammed against the bed's headboard.  He barely had time to get his bearings when an achingly familiar hand grasped his hair cruelly and titled his face.  The kitsune shivered at the look of utter fury in those crimson eyes.

"H-Hiei.  What...."  Kurama stared confusedly, eyes stinging with tears at the pain of Hiei's tight, cruel grip on his hair, the purple bruises on his aching body.

"YOU!  You are NOTHING!  You were the reason she never told me... because of you...."  The fire demon mumbled angrily, red blood tears falling in succession coalescing quickly into black red tear gems.

"H-Hiei, what is it?  What are you saying?"  Kurama asked frantically.  What was wrong with Hiei?

The enraged fire demon pressed the kitsune against him and kissed him hard.  Kurama felt himself go dizzy with the force.  Hiei was biting his lips.

"Hi-Hiei...."  Kurama whispered helplessly, feeling his strength ebbing away.  The depletion of blood from his lips depleting his ki.  He was fast becoming unconscious.  The last thing he  remembered was the sound of ripped clothing and the weight straddling his hips.
